As a general rule, I will not use any Generative AI technologies in my work unless specifically asked by the client, and even then I will advise against it. This is to distinguish Generative AI from other tools and processes which use some technological elements labelled ‘smart’ or ‘AI’. These tools and processes are likely to become more common within the process of post-production in the future, and at present many helpful smart tools are already in commonplace use, such as Content-Aware Fill, and the Object Selection tool.
It is my professional opinion that not only is there always a manual route to achieving the same result as with Generative AI, but that the results are always better.
